Well, I wish I could update here with something other than bad news, but I guess things just don't work out like that. As many people know, I was working on a Role Playing Game called Sky's Limit. It had a wiki and a forum and everything. Even a couple of people helping me playtest it. What most people didn't know was everything for it was kept in a small A5 notebook. This notebook followed me to most places. I had taken to writing the rules on the bus to school.
Until these got typed up (something I had been falling behind on since September due to school work) there was no back-up. Paper can't be overwritten accidentally, and it doesn't get corrupted when you plug it into a school computer. Or so I thought. It's snowed here, and a large part of the British attitude to snow is to throw it at other people. Some idiot managed to land a snowball in my satchel, where it's already partially melted outer layer seeped into the only thing not in a polythene wallet. My notebook.
Just to show how behind I'd gotten typing up the rules, below is a small list of things in my notebook that hadn't made it into the main ruleset:
1. Balanced magic rules
2. Finished timeline
3. List of planets with descriptions and details
4. Revised pet rules
5. GM guidelines
6. Anti-building combat
I have tried to salvage the notes inside, but pencil and ink don't link water, and the ink had seeped through the pages, sticking many together and making others completely unreadable.
So as of today, the wiki is being put into read only mode, and I'd like to literally heap praise on those who offered to help me with this endeavour, including Kain, Prophet ( http://theprophetgamer.deviantart.com ), Rae, Aatar and Gal ( http://GrayTheTwilight.deviantart.com ) as well as the many people who showed an interest. I wouldn't have made it even half this far without you lot.
But, as they say, every door closed is another door opened.
